Rental » Tapies - Chillida. Viena (Austria)

The exhibition shows two portfolios: “Aromas” by Eduardo Chillida and “Retornos de lo vivo lejano” by Antoni Tapies and Rafael Alberti.

“Retornos de lo vivo lejano” , published between May and June 1977, is a book composed by poems from Rafael Alberti accompanied by lithographs from Antoni Tapies. Alberti’s nostalgic poems – written in exile between 1948 and 1956 – and Tapies’ solid prints merge beautifully together in this work.

The portfolio “Aromas” talks about the artist’s thinking process, about his intuition and his sense of smell, serving as a walking guide on the uncertain creative path.
This work, which brings together graphic art, poems and philosophical quotes, shows the key themes so important to Chillida: time, space, gravity, music, light and sea.
