After leaving his native country, Germany, in 1933 and after having spent a few years as a refugee in Paris, Richard Lindner arrived in New York in 1941. The spectacle of this city and its cosmopolitan life, as well as American mass culture it was an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the painter. His enigmatic pictorial world, loaded with erotic connotations and references to poster aesthetics and advertising, is the result of a perfect symbiosis of the atmosphere of the great North American metropolis and the cultural baggage of Europe at the beginning of the 20th century.

Portfolio of seven lithographies by Richard Lindner, part of the Prinz Collection.
