BIOGRAPHY CHRISTIAN PRINZ

Christian Prinz
11/06/1963 (Madrid)

His passion for photography becomes entrenched in 1984 with a summer photography class in Fontainebleu, France and the subsequent participation in the Rencontres d'Arles, an annual international photographic festival. The following photographic knowledge is self-taught.
His main equipment currently consists of three cameras. Two Leicas: one M6 and one IIIf from 1941. The Lenses are Leica 35 mm, 50mm and 90mm as well as two Voigtländer of 15 and 50 mm. The third camera is a digital Canon 5D with 24-105mm and 70-200mm zoom lenses.
The images are processed and printed by the photographer.
His first exhibit took place 2002 in Madrid at the Galería Brita Prinz Arte, where he also exhibited in 2008. The latter entitled “At Your Feet”. It included for the first time a series of photographic cubes. Each cube consists of six different images, creating thus an art object that can also be used.
The cubes have been manufactured in Switzerland with high strength textiles and a 25kg/m3 foam filling.
He currently lives in Switzerland after having been in the USA for 12 years.
