----------------------------------------

On the occasion of the commemoration of the 30 years of twinning between the cities of Madrid and Berlin, and the celebration of her 75th birthday, the Berlin artist Gisela Weimann has devised a project to combine both anniversaries, and to reunite two galleries with which has maintained a close relationship: alpha-nova-kulturwerkstatt (Berlin) and Brita Prinz Arte (Madrid).

In the case of Brita Prinz Arte, their friendship arose in 1999 when she presented in our space, during the PhotoEspaña festival, the exhibition "Marcos de memoria", a series of photographic fragments of her travels in Europe and America.

Currently, within the joint project that will be developed in the spring of 2018 between Madrid and Berlin, will hold two parallel exhibitions. The first, "Über allem die Sterne" will take place in Berlin, in the gallery alpha-nova-kulturwerkstatt, from May 5 to June 16. The second one will be shown in our Brita Prinz Arte showroom from May 25 to June 21.

In Madrid, the exhibition will be entitled "Beyond us, the stars" and will include a series of glicée prints that are part of her project "Cosmos", initiated by the artist in 2005. It covers issues relating to the death of the stars, the distant planets and universes, the mystery of the celestial sphere, or the supernovas (stellar explosions).

Thus, once again Gisela Weimann pursues in her project, to strengthen ties between artist and gallery, as well as to establish future collaborations and new links between both exhibition spaces and the participating institutions.

This project counts with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Deutschland in Madrid and the Senate for Culture and European affairs of the city of Berlin.
