Tomás Pariente Dutor

Tomás Pariente Dutor exhibited under the title of "No Comments" a selection of embossed prints made in the last two years; a set that we can distinguish three thematic series.

The first is called "Theory of art", and revolves around the role of the artist and how this theorizes about "Art" and himself as "emitter" of artistic discourse, inevitably putting together a tailored suit.

The second instalment focuses on the public figure of the politician, in gestures and the stereotypes that promotes as the Foundation of his public performance; the replacement of the face is an attempt to reveal the lack of commitment to the society in which many of them incur and that based on his professional career.

The third series is a Tarot, the major arcana, and is in some ways a counterpoint to the other two. Interest in the comic, the poster or other elements of traditional woodcut (such as the use of ordered frames or different forms of work engraving in colour) come together in his works at the service of a look predominantly social criticism and irony to the art system.
